One of the coolest things I’ve recently done and that I really enjoy has been starting a REIA (Real Estate Investment Association) with my friend Nick here in Durham NC.
We named it RTP REIA since we’re here in the Triangle area which includes Durham, Raleigh, and Chapel Hill. I briefly considered DuREIA (for Durham REIA) but I thought it might get confused with diarrhea. Lol.
There are dozens of REIAs nationwide, and there’s a lot of variety in the quality, content, and purpose of different REIAs, but ours is a place for investors (new or seasoned) to come together and share, learn, grow, and encourage each other in their real estate endeavors.
And so…
The mission of RTP REIA is to provide the tools and resources necessary to help people achieve financial freedom through real estate investing.
What I love most about it is that we have an awesome group of people who really want to help each other. It’s been super cool to see people share their successes and have other people celebrate along with them.
It’s also really neat to see mutually-beneficial relationships flourish. For example, just recently we’ve had…

- A loan officer from a small local bank in our group who helped out two investors get loans for their projects
- A plumber and HVAC guy that are members help out other members with their projects
- A new investor that has never done a flip on his own get his first deal within 30 days of coaching (we also offer real estate coaching through the REIA)
Cool right?
What makes it even cooler is that it doesn’t matter if you’ve never done a deal or if you’re on your 100th. You can get something out of the group – whether it’s knowledge, accountability, support, networking, or just plain ol’ fun. Our meetings are a blast.
To make the group even better and provide even more value to our members, in addition to the expected up-to-date and relevant real estate information and knowledge, I add in my Tony Robbins RMT training experience. This helps people tremendously with the internal struggle that so many of us face.
I also share Lifeonaire concepts and principles which helps people design, build, and pursue the life of their dreams – one of abundance and joy.
This is a combination no one else has and our members love it.
